The brand initially originated when the founder of Layer Up! Marleen Moodley used to make homemade treatments for her hair and skin due to having sensitive skin as a teenager and doing trials and tests on what worked and what didn’t. This then grew to making little bottles for friends and family members and them continuously coming back and asking for more. Therefore, leading her interests into the international beauty industry which become an obsession, outsourcing, and ordering from all parts of the world. Having all this passion, starting a brand was the next best thing.
